Ridley Scott is an English film director and producer. He has directed The Duellists, Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise, G.I. Jane, Gladiator, Matchstick Men, American Gangster, The Counselor, The Martian, and All the Money in the World, among other acclaimed films.

He is the son of Elizabeth Jane (Williams) and Francis Percy Scott. His brother was filmmaker Tony Scott. His children are filmmakers Jake Scott, Luke Scott, and Jordan Scott, who is also a photographer. Tony is married to Costa Rican actress and producer Giannina Facio.

Ridley’s paternal grandfather was Edward Scott (the son of Richard Scott and Margaret Ann Bell). Edward was born in Wallsend. Richard was the son of John Scott and Maria Dixon. Margaret was the daughter of Michael Bell and Elizabeth Forster.

Ridley’s paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Carr (the daughter of Francis Carr and Ann Nixon). Elizabeth was born in Percy Main. Francis was the son of Robert Carr and Elizabeth. Ann was the daughter of Francis Nixon and Diana Little.
