Oliver Anthony is an American country-folk singer and songwriter. He is known for his song “Rich Men North of Richmond.” With the song, he is the first musician to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 without a prior charting history of any kind. He has been billed as Oliver Anthony Music on Spotify.

He was born and raised in Farmville, Piedmont Region.

Oliver’s maternal grandfather was Anthony Oliver Ingle (the son of Gilbert Monroe Ingle and Isabelle McGuire). Anthony was born in Roebuck, Virginia. Gilbert was the son of Anthony Horne Ingle and Mary Ellen Gobble. Isabelle was the daughter of Oliver D. McGuire and Julia Hoover.

Oliver’s maternal grandmother was Christine Audrey Scott (the daughter of Robert Lee Scott and Lizzie May Emory). Christine was born in Hopewell, Virginia. Robert was the son of R. E. Scott and Anna. Lizzie was the daughter of David Leonard Emory and Lettie/Lydia Lillie Peden.
