Matt McGorry is an American actor, writer, and activist. His roles include the shows Orange Is the New Black, How to Get Away with Murder, and Archive 81, and the films Ratter, How He Fell in Love, Step Sisters, Uncorked, Death of a Telemarketer, and Good on Paper.

His father is of Irish descent. His mother is Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Polish Jewish descent. When asked if he is Jewish, he said, “My mom is, so technically I am.”

Matt’s paternal grandfather was William J. McGorry (the son of William Joseph McGorry and Mary V. Cassidy).

Matt’s paternal grandmother was named Frances O’Sullivan.
