Lars Løkke Rasmussen is a Danish politician. He has served as Prime Minister of Denmark, since 28 June, 2015, and previously, from 5 April, 2009 to 3 October, 2011. He has also been a Member of the Folketing, since 21 September, 1994, and Leader of Venstre, since 17 May, 2009, and was previously Minister of Finance, from 23 November, 2007 to 7 April 2009, and Leader of the Opposition, from 3 October, 2011 to 28 June, 2015, among other duties.
Lars is the son of Jeppe Løkke Rasmussen and Lise Marie Knudsen Olsen. Lars is married to Sólrun Jákupsdóttir, who is Faroese. The couple has three children.
Lars’ paternal grandfather was Aage Knud Rasmussen (the son of Knud Rasmussen and Birthe Marie Hansen). Aage was born in Budderup, Våbensted sogn, Maribo amt. Knud was the son of Rasmus Hansen and Johannes Pedersdatter. Marie was the daughter of Hans Jørgen Jeppsen and Ana Margrethe Jochumsen.
Lars’ paternal grandmother was Rasmine Jensen (the daughter of Jacob Jensen and Petrea Marie Mikkelsen). Rasmine was born in Brandløkke, As sogn, Vejle amt. Jacob was the son of Jens Jacobsen and Bodel Margrethe Rasmussen. Petrea was the daughter of Rasmus Mikkelsen and Maren Pedersdatter.
Lars’ maternal grandfather was Einer Senius Olsen (the son of Lars Sinius Olsen and Hansine Marie Myhre Larsen). Einer was born in Balka, Bodilsker sogn, Bornholms amt. Lars was the son of Lars Olsen and Hansine Cecilie West. Hansine was the daughter of Hans Peter Larsen and Hansine Augusta Myhre.
Lars’ maternal grandmother was Olga Marie Knudsen (the daughter of Anton Marius Knudsen and Lise Margrethe Hansen). Olga was born in Sortkat, Nyker sogn, Bornholms amt. Anton was the son of Hans Peter Knudsen and Ane Marie Pedersdatter. Lise was the daughter of Jørgen Peter Hansen and Petrea Elisabeth Pedersen.
