Mette Frederiksen is a Danish politician. She is the Prime Minister of Denmark, having served in the position since 27 June, 2019. She has also been a Member of the Folketing, since 20 November, 2001, and Leader of the Social Democrats, since 28 June, 2015. She was previously Minister of Employment, from 3 October, 2011 to 10 October, 2014, Minister of Justice, from 10 October, 2014 to 28 June, 2015, and Leader of the Opposition, from 28 June, 2015 to 27 June, 2019.

Her father, Flemming Frederiksen, is a typographer. Her mother, Anette (Larsen), is a teacher.

Prime Minister Frederiksen has two children with her former husband, Erik Harr.

Prime Minister Frederiksen’s paternal grandfather was Svend Erik Frederiksen (the son of Jens Martinus Frederiksen and Anna Dorthea Petra Jensen). Svend was born in Aalborg. Jens was the son of Laurits Frederiksen and Anne Nielsen. Prime Minister Frederiksen’s great-grandmother Anna was the daughter of Søren Kristian Jensen and Ellen Marie Jensen.

Prime Minister Frederiksen’s paternal grandmother was Maja Nikoline Pedersen (the daughter of Hans Marinus Karl Pedersen and Meta Marie Kirstine Pedersen). Maja was born in Hjallerup. Hans was the son of Peder Pedersen and Nikoline Marie Jensen. Meta was the daughter of Lars Christian Pedersen and Maren Pedersen.

Prime Minister Frederiksen’s maternal grandfather is named Bent Larsen.
