Jessica Szohr is an American actress and model. She is known for her role as Vanessa Abrams on the series Gossip Girl.
Jessica’s father is of African-American and European descent. Jessica’s mother, whose surname is Szohr, has Hungarian and German (from her own father) and Irish and English (from her own mother) ancestry.
Jessica has a daughter with her fiancé, Canadian professional ice hockey player Brad Richardson.
Jessica’s maternal grandfather is Ronald Szohr (the son of Philip S. Szohr and Marie C. Bayer). Ronald’s ancestry appears to be a mix of ethnic Germans and Hungarians. Philip was the son of Hungarian-born parents, Simon Szóhr/Sohr, from Tevel, and Erzsebeth/Elizabeth Grabenar, from Nagyvejke. Marie C. was also the daughter of Hungarian-born parents, Joseph Bayer and Clara, who was from Bács-Bodrog County.
Jessica’s maternal grandmother is Karen Bishop (the daughter of Arthur E. Bishop and Dorothy J. Hagan). Dorothy was the daughter of Donald Patrick Hagan and Ruth H. Bigelow.

Hmm, half of her Hungarian family appears to be German on every document (plus they have German last names Sohr and Ochs).
Anyway Simon was from Tevel, and Elizabeth was from Nagyvejke.

I don’t know Clara’s last name but she was from Bács-Bodrog County (probably the part that’s in Serbia today, since one document says Yugoslavia). I don’t know if she was Hungarian or German, but according to censi she speaks German.
She looks exactly like what she says. Mostly European with noticeable black African blood, mostly seen on her nose and hair.
But she’s mostly white and seems to hangs out, date and associate with white people so if she wants to see herself as white then fine.
@ Alexgxo
It’s most likely how she sees herself. I heard her in an radio interview a few years ago, stating she was only Hungarian( never mention the black part)
I can’t believe people in the comments here and others on other sites have said she can somehow pass as southern euro. With that nose no way in hell will anyone think that she’s full white and two, the only southern euro feature she has is the tan.. Her European ancestry and features does not look like something Mediterranean.
I don’t know why people say she can pass as full Hungarian or white for that matter.
Her nose side profile hair texture all scream something non European in her ancestry.
No way. Her nose, sort of her lips and hair texture all give away SSA ancestry. She doesn’t even look full European descent even without the straight air.
