Farrah Fawcett was an American actress, model, and artist. She is known for her roles on the show Charlie’s Angels and in the films Extremities, The Apostle, and Logan’s Run, among other works. She was also credited as Farrah Fawcett-Majors, while married to actor Lee Majors, and Farrah Faucet.
Farrah was the daughter of Pauline Alice (Evans) and James William Fawcett. Until her death, her long-time partner was actor Ryan O’Neal. The couple had a son, Redmond O’Neal.
She is sometimes described as having had French or Choctaw Native American ancestry. It is not clear if these said ancestral lines have been verified/documented. Farrah is also sometimes stated as having had Lebanese ancestry, perhaps because her first name is of Arabic origin. However, she was not of Arab descent.
Farrah’s paternal grandfather was William Albert Fawcett (the son of John Fawcett and Clara Flavel/Flavell). William was born in Texas, to English parents. John was born in Hull, Yorkshire, the son of David Fawcett and Elizabeth Inchbold Green. Clara was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, the daughter of Benjamin Flavell and Esther Elizabeth Wood.
Farrah’s paternal grandmother was Myrtle Ola Hixon (the daughter of William Elbert “Billie” Hixon and Mary E. “Mollie” Steen). Myrtle was born in Texas. William was the son of Richard Hickson/Hixon and Margaret Ann Henderson.
Farrah’s maternal grandfather was John Henry Evans (the son of Starlin James Evans and Charolette Charity McManus). John was born in Louisiana, to parents from South Carolina. Starlin was the son of William H. Evans and Cynthia Mourning Diggs. Charolette was the daughter of Hugh Luke McManus, whose father’s family was from Tipperary, Ireland; and of Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Campbell.
Farrah’s maternal grandmother was Martha Ann “Mattie” Johnson (the daughter of Robert Owen Johnson and Nancy Jane “Jennie” Mefford). Martha was born in Kentucky. Robert was the son of William Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Miller. Nancy was likely the daughter of John Quincy Mefford and Priscilla/Pricey/Pricy Harmon.

Fawcett is a Scottish surname, from East Lothian, where I live and know other people with this name.
Correction. Fawcett is an English surname not Scottish it most common in Cumbria/Yorkshire areas
The second sentence of this says “Farrah was the son of Pauline Alice (Evans) and James William Fawcett.” Son? Clearly a typo.
The picture isn’t working for me.
Did she have Native American ancestry? She doesn´t look Native American at all, but that´s what´s stated on Wikipedia.
There is no proof that she had Native American ancestry.
I loved Farrah Fawcett in ‘Charlie’s Angels’. I must admit I don’t think she was the most beautiful out of the three original Angels, but she had an aura emanating from within her that captured the attention of a lot of people & I can see why she was so popular with the public.
If ethni or Follers reads this could we add Jaclyn Smith (the other Charlie’s Angel) to this website. I’d be interested to know what her ancestral background is made up of, as she was & still is an incredibly beautiful woman. Thank-you.
BTW, her mother’s obituary, and her mother’s roots (Warren Moore Hartsfield was her mother’s brother).

Thanks Follers I appreciate that alot.
It looks like Jaclyn Smith has quite a bit of Scottish ancestry on her mothers side of her family tree. Jaclyn’s great, great grandfather Lauchlen Mcauley was born in Scotland & the surname ‘Urquhart’ (held by her great grandmother) is one of the most famous of Scottish clan surnames supposedly. Also if you look further back on her family tree she has quite a bit of Irish & English ancestry too.
I’ve heard the rumours that her father maybe Jewish too, but that’s still disputed.
Ethni you should definitely add Jaclyn Smith to EthniCelebs. Thank-you.
