Jonathan Banks is an American actor. He is known for playing Mike Ehrmantraut on the series Breaking Bad, and its spin-off, Better Call Saul.

He is the son of Emma Elena and Clarence Ray Banks. Jonathan is married to Gennera Gonzalez Cebian. He has a daughter with his former wife Marnie Fausch; and two children with Gennera.

Jonathan’s paternal grandfather was John Barnett Banks (the son of Jonathan B Banks and Frances Janee Blankenship). John was born in Burnsville, North Carolina. Jonathan was the son of Andrew Ezekial Banks and Rachel Ruth Turner. Frances was the daughter of Barnett Blankenship and Ruth Koon. Andrew Banks has sometimes been said to have been the grandson of a Native American woman, Jane Red Wing. However, evidence is not clear if Jane existed.

Jonathan’s paternal grandmother was Docia Mae Young (the daughter of William M. Young and Phoebe Mernerva Ledford). Docia was born in Mitchell, North Carolina. William was the son of William Young and Margaret “Peggy” Buchanan.

Jonathan’s maternal grandfather was Henry Sherman Adams (the son of The Rev. Henry Washington Adams and Louisa Erie Pruitt). Jonathan’s grandfather Henry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jonathan’s great-grandfather The Rev. Henry was the son of The Rev. Moses Herman Adams and Mary Amanda Patton. Louisa was the daughter of John Thomas Pruitt and Martha Jane Mitchem or Nancy Jane Scott.

Jonathan’s maternal grandmother was Myrtle Mae Butcher (the daughter of Jacob David Butcher and America Dorinda Findley/Finley). Myrtle was born in Monroe County, Indiana. Jacob was of German and some Swiss-German descent, and was the son of Solomon Butcher, whose father was German, and of Katherine/Catherine Stephens. America was the daughter of David Finley and Jane Hardinia Desmukes/Dismukes.
