David Sheff is an American author and journalist. He has worked for The New York Times, and is known for his books Game Over, Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction, The Buddhist on Death Row, and All We Are Saying: The Last Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to a family of Russian Jewish descent. He is married to Karen Barbour, and has three children, including writer Nic Sheff. The two were portrayed in the film Beautiful Boy, where they were played by Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet, respectively.
