Adam Fox is an American professional ice hockey player. He is a defenseman and alternate captain for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is nicknamed “Foxy.”

Adam is the son of Tammy and Bruce Fox.

Adam’s paternal grandfather was Melvin Fox (the son of Bernard Fox and Celia Woldenberg). Melvin’s parents were Polish Jews. Bernard was born in Płock.

Adam’s paternal grandmother was Sally Alterman (the daughter of Morris Alterman and Minnie/Michle Boyarsky/Bajarski). Sally’s parents were Polish Jews/Belarusian Jews. Morris was the son of Louis Alterman and Sarah Kalmanowitz.

Adam’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Manoff.
