Karl’s maternal grandfather was Isaac Hijman “Chaim” Jitschak Preßburg (the son of Hirschl Michl Heymann Preßburg, ben Meir Michael, and of Heintje/Hendrina Isaac Kutsch Stoekoetz). Karl’s grandfather Isaac was born in Preßburg, now Slovakia, and was a Dutch rabbi.
