Place of Birth: Toulouse, France

Date of Birth: 9 April 1987

Ethnicity: Angolan

Blaise Matuidi is a French international footballer. He was born to Angolan parents, Élise and Faria Rivelino. His mother has been described as being of French descent, however, this is not correct.

Blaise’s parents moved from Angola to Zaïre (now République Démocratique du Congo), because of the civil war. As a result, Blaise is fluent in Lingala but not in Portuguese.
