She rose to fame in the early 1990s with her self-titled debut album Shania Twain (1993), and achieved worldwide success with her 1997 album Come On Over, which became the best-selling album of all time by a female musician, and the best selling country album of all time.
Her heritage is Irish and French-Canadian. She was raised in the Ojibway Indian culture by her stepfather, a full blooded Ojibway native. Her name “Shania” means “I’m on my way” in Ojibwa.
In an interview on TV she claimed that her biological father was part Cree.

She a pretty mixed race person mostly white. Because the natives like the united states are mixed already compared to some latin american countries when you see white and staight up latin american indians. Their kids look more indian because their are not mixed but first generation mixed.

Shania is a real mixture. She is about 40% Irish with a healthy dash of English, Swedish, Scottish blood, leavened with exotic touches of French, Native and Spanish.
