Shane Dawson is an American YouTuber, actor, filmmaker, writer, comedian, director, make-up artist, and musician. He was one of the first YouTubers to become known, in the late 2000s. His output includes the song “Superluv!,” the podcast Shane and Friends, the series The Chair, Conspiracy Series with Shane Dawson, and The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star, and the films Smiley, Not Cool, which he also directed; and Internet Famous. His videos have accumulated billions of views.

Shane is the son of Teresa and Kyle Yaw. He is married to YouTuber Ryland Adams.

Shane’s paternal grandfather was Kyle Eugene Yaw (the son of Thomas Edward “Tommy” Yaw and Edith Inez Moore). Kyle was born in Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Thomas was the son of Ray Steven Yaw and Margariet May “Maggie” Areno, whose father Thomas Areno was Greek, and whose mother was of at least half Cajun descent. Edith was the daughter of George Ward Moore and Mattie Lee Andrews.

Shane’s paternal grandmother was Nancy Lou Welch (the daughter of Roy Lee Welch and Alice Minnie Nevill/Neville). Nancy was born in California. Roy was the son of Thomas Welch and Ada Smith. Alice was the daughter of James Thomas Nevill/Neville and Dorothy Nina Allen.

    He took a DNA test from 23andMe in a video titled “WE GOT A SURROGATE.
    It stated he was 99.5% European
    – 92.1% Northwestern European
    (69.8% British and Irish)
    (3.7% French and German)
    (1.9% Scandinavian)
    – 5.3 Southern European
    2.7% Balkan
    0.1% Italian
    2.5% Broadly Southern European
    – 0.5% West African
    So overall he mostly Irish and English which explains his dark ginger hair and and straight on nose

    I think he has Irish and German ancestry as well. In a video from about a year ago he said “Guess who’s Irish and German” when he was talking about his skin tone. I’ll try to find it as soon as I can.
