Orri Páll Dýrason

Orri Páll Dýrason is an Icelandic musician. He was the drummer for post-rock band Sigur Rós. Georg Hólm, Jónsi, Kjartan Sveinsson, and, previously, Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson, have also been members of the band.

He is the son of professional footballer Dýri Guðmundsson and Hildur Guðmundsdóttir.

Orri’s paternal grandfather was Guðmundur Þorláksson (the son of Þorlákur Benediktsson and Valgerður Anna Bjarnadóttir). Þorlákur was the son of Benedikt Jóhannesson and Kristín Guðnadóttir. Valgerður was the daughter of Bjarni Gíslason and Guðrún Sigurðardóttir.

Orri’s paternal grandmother was Vilborg Guðjónsdóttir (the daughter of Guðjón Finnur Davíðsson and Borgný Jóna Hermannsdóttir). Guðjón was the son of Davíð Davíðsson and Jóhanna Jónsdóttir. Borgný was the daughter of Hermann Jónsson and Guðbjörg Torfadóttir.

Orri’s maternal grandfather was Guðmundur Pétursson (the son of Pétur Sveinsson and Ástríður Jónsdóttir). Pétur was the son of Sveinn Pétursson and Pálína Tómasdóttir. Ástríður was the daughter of Jón Jónsson and Sigríður María Jónsdóttir.

Orri’s maternal grandmother was Herdís Friðriksdóttir (the daughter of Friðrik Einarsson and Guðrún Vigfúsdóttir). Friðrik was the son of Einar Benjamínsson and Ása Benjamínsdóttir. Guðrún was the daughter of Vigfús Josefsson and Ólína Ólafsdóttir.
