His maternal grandmother surname is rather interesting. It’s obviously African, and I dont see how a Huguenot named Pierre Antoine Menigault becomes Peter Mandigo…same story of Mozingo/Monzingo family.
If this branch of Mandigos have African ancestry, only DNA could detect it.
