David is the son of Winifred May “Winnie” (Roberts) and Thomas Joseph Coverdale. His father is pictured here. His mother is pictured here. He is married to author Cindy Coverdale. He has a daughter with his former wife, German, Julia Borkowski; and a son with Cindy. He was also married to American model and actress Tawny Kitaen, who appeared in many of Whitesnake’s music videos.

David is a dual U.K.-U.S. citizen.
