Her father is an American, from Pueblo, Colorado, and was in the U.S. Navy. He is said to be of Irish, Scottish, German, French, and Cherokee Native American ancestry. It is not clear if this Cherokee ancestry has been verified/documented.

Her mother is Japanese.

Her parents met during the U.S. occupation of Japan after World War II. Ann was raised in Sasebo, Nagasaki and Ashland, Oregon. She has said, “my face announces to the world that I come from a long line of very open-minded lovers.”

Ann has traveled to Japan to find her mother’s ancestry. Her journey can be seen here.

Wikipedia says her father, Bob Curry, is of Irish, Scottish, German, French, and Cherokee descent and that her mother is Japanese.

Wikipedia is not reliable nor a credible source, but it does have a source for this. You should check it out just in case there is some extra information there.

Either way, she’s still Eurasian. Haha. But I just thought you might be interested if there was more to her father’s side.

Why has she been in the news so often lately?

I figured she was Eurasian.
