Her father, Plato “Steve” Contostavlos, is of Greek Cypriot descent, and was a member of the band Mungo Jerry. Her mother, Ann M. Byrne, is of Irish ancestry, and was a member of the band Jeep.

Tulisa’s paternal grandfather is Spiros Contostavlos.
