Shirley Booth was an American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Come Back, Little Sheba (1952).

Shirley was the daughter of Virginia Martha (Wright) and Albert James Ford. Her father, who was born in New York, had English ancestry. Her mother was of one half Northern Irish, one quarter English, and one quarter Irish, ancestry. She was married to U.S. Army corporal William H. Baker, Jr., until his death.
