One of my parents friends is from Münich, Germany. He is 100 % german, and he has dark hair, dark eyes and tan skin. It’s not uncommon in Germany. People just think of a stereotypical german as being whiter than white.

Why are people so quick to say “100% German”?

I have news for you, Germany was only quite recently declared Germany, the borders have shifted so many times to even keep count. Germany also borders many other countries: Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland so it would be silly to assume that there is such a thing as 100% German since it is obvious that there has been assimilation of the 9 other border countries races.

Due to mixed marriages/breeding there are virtually no pure races anymore, Germany and the German race would be one of the lease identifiable. It would be easier to stay racially pure on an island like Iceland or somewhere remote with less visitors, travelers, and immigration like in some African or Middle Eastern countries where families have lived in the same villages for generations with little contact from the outside world.

I totally agree with you! My family is from Germany and most of them have dark hair, eyes, and tannish skin. It is very common especially near the Black Forest region which is near France. Of course there are people with light hair and eyes but it is not the majority. The light hair and eyes is a stereo type.

“Germans” are predominately a mixture of the three indo-european tribes: Celts, Slavs and teutonic tribes. South germany is predominately celtic, whereas northwest germany is predomintaly inhabited by Saxon Teutons; East germans are a mixture of slavs and the other groups, especially teutons. Especially celtic germans have rather brown eyes and brown hair than light – but i do not want to generalize…just an information for interested people ; )
