He is also known as Pharrell, Skateboard P, Sk8board, Auto Goon, Magnum, the Verb Lord; and Station Wagon P.

His parents, Carolyn L. (Hoggard) and Pharoah Williams, Jr., are both African-American. Pharrell is married to model Helen Lasichanh, with whom he has four children. He is said to be a cousin of musician, record producer, and DJ Timbaland.

Pharrell’s paternal grandfather was Pharoah/Pharaoh Williams, Sr. (the son of Cato Thomas Williams and Ora Cooper). Pharrell’s grandfather Pharoah was born in North Carolina. Cato was the son of Fenner Williams and Martha Alford. Fenner’s parents, Louis May and Louisa, were slaves, and Fenner likely also was born into slavery.

An article published at “Diary of a Hollywood Street King” claimed that Pharrell’s mother is Filipino. This information is not accurate. Pharrell’s mother is African-American, and is pictured at the bottom right of this page. Also, for whatever reason, Ebony.com stated that Pharrell is of part Laotian descent. They may have confused Pharrell’s mother with Pharrell’s wife, Helen Lasichanh, who is of part Laotian descent.

Pharrell’s mother is Filipino. Why is it not listed on here? He looks very Filipino, even more than Black.

God, you guys are all fucking stupid. African-Americans are a majority of the time, mixed. We are mixed because of slavery. I am mixed, but I am African-American and you will not tell me otherwise.

Another stupid thing I wanted to point out…high cheekbones means they’re mixed with Asian or native american? are you stupid? Have you not seen the black people from east Africa? the ones from Somali and Ethiopia? their fucking cheekbones are on their eyes they’re so goddamn high.

You guys need to stop generalizing people, especially black people. We’re one of the most genetically diverse group of people on this planet, we don’t all look the same and we don’t all have just one feature.

Pharrell’s parents are both AFRICAN-AMERICAN, get over it and shut the fuck up.

You all act like being just black is a bad thing, sorry, but we’re attractive too.

Ikr? We can never be just Black. They’ll fight tooth and nail to dilute the Blackness even with copious evidence to the contrary. It’s sickening.
