Birth Name: Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom

Place of Birth: Canterbury, Kent, England, U.K.

Date of Birth: 13 January, 1977

Ethnicity: English, small amounts of Scottish and Northern Irish

Orlando Bloom is an English actor. His roles include the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean films, as well as Ned Kelly (2003), Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, Elizabethtown, New York, I Love You, and The Three Musketeers (2011), among other works.

Orlando’s mother, Sonia Constance Josephine (Copeland), was born in Calcutta, India, and is of English, with some Scottish and Northern Irish, descent. Orlando was raised believing that his legal father, Harry Bloom, was also his biological father. Harry was a Jewish South African journalist and novelist. During his teens, Orlando was told by his mother that his biological father is Colin Stone, who is English. Harry and Sonia, who together could not have biological children, had agreed that Colin would father Orlando.

Orlando has a son with his former wife, Australian model Miranda Kerr; and a daughter with his fiancée, American singer and songwriter Katy Perry.

Orlando practices Buddhism.

Orlando’s biological paternal grandfather was Henry/Harry Stone (the son of Robert Byatt Stone and Bessie Agnes Meech). Henry was born in Weymouth, Dorset, England. Robert was the son of John Robert Flew Stone and Elizabeth Chaddock. Bessie was the daughter of Frederick George Meech and Emily Pullman.

Orlando’s biological paternal grandmother was Lilian/Lillian Morris (the daughter of Walter William Dennison Morris and Lily Rosina Crabb). Orlando’s grandmother Lilian was born in Weymouth, Dorset, England. Walter was the son of Walter Gibbs Morris and Lydia Catherine Philips Symes. Orlando’s great-grandmother Lily was the daughter of Jesse/Jessie Crabb and Susan Cox.

Orlando’s maternal grandfather was Francis John Copeland (the son of Isaac Copeland and Mary Cairns). Francis likely was born in Belfast, Ireland, and was a physician and surgeon. Isaac was the son of John Copeland and Mary Ann/Anne Cowan, and was of Northern Irish descent. Orlando’s great-grandmother Mary was the daughter of Samuel Cairns, who was born in Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland, and of Isabella/Isabel Scott.

Orlando’s maternal grandmother was Betty Constance Josephine Walker (the daughter of Frederic/Frederick Percy Walker and Iris Mary Constance Good). Frederic was born in Calcutta, India, the son of Frederic/Frederick Walker, who was born in Tasmania, Australia or Calcutta, to English parents; and of Eva Isabella Connew/Conneu, who was born in Calcutta, to an English father, and to a mother who was of at least part Scottish ancestry. Orlando’s great-grandmother Iris was born in Edmonton, Middlesex, England, the daughter of Arthur Madgewick Good and Jessica/Jessie Louisa Foley. Some of Orlando’s ancestors had been born in Assam, India, as well as Tasmania and Melbourne, Australia, and were of English/British Isles descent.

the commenters on this website are all ——– lmaooo, do you people realize that you can be a 100% european and still have dark fetures I have dark brown eyes and light brown hair I thought I was mixed with some west asian bcs I’m from balkan and on my dna test that I did with “my heritage” I got 50.4% East European, 47.5% Balkan and 2.1% Scandinavian. You people need to realize that Europe doesn’t equal blonde hair blue eyes. I have a friend from bavaria that looks more ethnic then me and on his test he got german scandinavian and irish lmao.

    • peekaboo mewmew-ricans says:

His face says he’s Hispanic you have to see the features not only the colors — ——— have different standard of whiteness the dark haired and eyes Euros don’t look Hispanics, Arabs, Asians, Afros and other non-white.
Trust me I’m European from Europe I know perfectly my own folk XD.

    • VikingHalfa says:

Well…most of the European Balkans (along with most of Southern and Southeast Europe) are not 100% ethnically European. Genetic haplogroups research shows that most ethnic nationals from Balkan countries have significantly higher North African and Middle Eastern ancestry compared to other ethnic European nationals. And since you’re 45% Balkan; that means you have a significant amount of your DNA is NOT of European origin.

I dunno i mean the reason i even looked at all is because, while I understand there are english people with darker features, it seems in photos with other ppl he has always stood out. he looks for more ethnically ambiguous for example than all the other cast members of lotr, listed here for reference: https://www.polygon.com/lord-of-the-rings/22822965/lord-of-the-rings-cast-photos-fellowship-of-the-ring-premiere , https://www.alamy.com/billy-boyd-orlando-bloom-and-elijah-wood-at-new-line-cinemas-metro-goldwyn-mayer-pictures-and-warner-bros-pictures-premiere-of-the-hobbit-the-battle-of-the-five-armies-held-at-dolby-theatre-in-hollywood-ca-december-9-2014-photo-by-joe-martinez-picturelux-image219497998.html ,
and then here are images of him with the cast and director of haven, all of whom are people of color, where he seems to have a more similar skintone and features: https://www.gettyimages.co.nz/detail/news-photo/actress-zoe-saldana-pinches-actor-orlando-blooms-face-as-news-photo/71868216 , http://www.wireimage.com/celebrity-pictures/Bob-Yari-producer-Zoe-Saldana-Orlando-Bloom-and-Frank-E-Flowers/106014740 , https://www.gettyimages.ch/detail/nachrichtenfoto/actress-zoe-saldana-and-actor-orlando-bloom-attend-the-nachrichtenfoto/71869272?language=fr I mean he’s literally almost as dark as zoe saldana and shes black.
i know alleles and appearance are wacky, but it would seem highly unlikely to me given the amount of his family that spent time in India and Tasmania that he’s ONLY english and a lil Scottish and irish

    • jonasbsjr says:

”almost as dark as zoe saldana and shes black” lmao nope dude first of all Zoe is not black, sure she obviusly have a lot of Sub-saa african admixture but shes clearly mixed with white and some indigenous as well, you can tell by looking at her, and in that pic shes tanned and full of make. Secondly, Orlando is actually quite pale, he just so happens to have an underlying olive complexion that helps him tan more easily than most ethnic brits(the indigenous anglo-celtic peoples from the british isles), genetic is tricky and you never know how exatly you will come out, not everyone from an specifc ehtnic group will fit all the boxes related to that group, and also, pictures and videos can full a alot of people cuz theres always some edited light and angle that can give the wrong impression about a persons look, not to mention make.

This article leaves out lots of stuff he’s more than english just go down his family tree not even past 1800 on his moms side alone and he’s also French, Swedish, possibly German (name seems english tho), and Indian (of India and ethnically not of English descent):

He’s also Native American Indian and Swedo-Mexican, but on his mother’s side.

And I actually blame the geni moderators “more” than Joseph John Boyce. How could they allow this to go on for years and years, and still leave so many of his pages up even after he’s gone? A complete embarrassment they all share.

      • hunkybrooster99 says:

Wow! i had no idea. Do you have sources to those relatives who are native and swedo-mexican (not sure what that is sorry) in his family tree? some of it probably has to do with the lack of adequate sources listed bc they all show up blank or end with his great grandparents.

        • follers says:

I was being ironic. Sorry, there was an account on geni named “Joseph John Boyce” who ceaselessly posted fake ancestors, or fake birthplaces of real ancestors (the Bloom tree is a mix of both). The geni administrators were too stupid and lazy to notice or care, and they still haven’t deleted most of his work.

Thankfully, Boyce, or the person behind it, died recently due to an accident at the zoo, so he won’t be creating anymore of these. Someone needs to delete what he’s done, though.

          • jackson9 says:

That’s really messed up @follers. you don’t say thankfully someone died just because they were a troll on Geni.com. Really one of the more disgusting things I’ve seen on this site.

          • follers says:

But how else would I express my gratitude for his untimely demise?

    • Dar says:

Looking through his family (mother’s side), he also has a little bit of Cornish and Jersey Channel Islander. So i would change his ancestry to

Ethnicity: English, small amounts of French, Swedish, Cornish, Jersey Channel Islander, possibly Indian and German.

    • Dar says:

Btw Papiya’s original name was Anand, which is an Indian name.

  4. ethnicjudge says:

He has more than 1 ethnicity.

  5. mm00477 says:

He looks part Jewish. Ancestors who came to this country wrote down whatever they wanted as there ethnicity.
