Josh Gibson was an American professional baseball player. He was a catcher in the Negro leagues. Baseball historians consider Gibson to be among the very best power hitters and catchers in the history of baseball, including Major League Baseball (MLB). He was often called the “black Babe Ruth.”
Josh was the son of Nancy and Mark Gibson. He was married to Helen Mason, until her death, with whom he had two children.
