Cubans are mixed. Cool, but the tainos indigenous of Caribe are really dead? Cuba like Brasil, mestizo.

Aren’t Afro Latinos non mixed black people that are Latino? I know Christina classifies herself as Afro Latina but she’s very obviously mixed race. I don’t think anybody would look at her and think she’s an unambiguous black woman. It’s obvious she’s tri-racial.

Afro-Latina just means a Latino of African descent. It never meant you had to be 100% African especially since the vast majority of Afro Latinos have some admixture. Same thing with African-Americans, you don’t have to be fully African to be or identify as African-American.

    • Jarap says:

She is tri racial not Afro Latino. Afro Latinos look predominately West African. Coarse hair, wide nose and darker skin just like most African Americans.
Many people in Hollywood are using the Afro label without knowing what it represents.

I don’t think she’s triracial. At least Mulatta. Native ancestry is not significant in Latin Caribbean countries. Especially Cuba, mainly European and African. Most Cubans are either White, Mulatto, or Black. Cuba actually recieved alot of Galician, Andalusian, Asturian, and Canarian immigrants. It was also the second to last country to abolish slavery after Brazil.
