Bob Corker is an American businessperson and politician. A member of the Republican Party, he was Mayor of Chattanooga, from April 16, 2001 to April 18, 2005, a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, from January 3, 2007 to January 3, 2019, and Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, from January 3, 2015 to January 3, 2019.
Bob is the son of Jean J. (Hutto) and Robert Phillips “Phil” Corker. He is married to Elizabeth, with whom he has two children.
Bob’s paternal grandfather was Stephen Alfestus Corker (the son of Palmer Corker and Melrose Attaway). Stephen was born in Georgia. Palmer was the son of Stephen A. Corker (Stephen Alfestus Corker), a politician, who, as a Democrat, was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia, in 1871, and was later a member of the Greenback Party; and of Margaret Myrtis Palmer.
