Andrew Tate is an American-British internet personality, professional kickboxer, businessperson, and chess player. He has gained notoriety for his views on gender roles, usually described as anti-feminist.

Andrew is the son of Eileen and American chess player Emory Tate (Emory Andrew Tate, Jr.). His father, from Chicago, was of African-American and European descent, though he was not directly biracial; Andrew’s father had the chess title International Master. His mother was English, and likely of part Irish descent. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois and Goshen, Indiana, before moving with his mother to Luton, England.

Andrew’s paternal grandfather was Emory Andrew Tate, Sr. (the son of Robert Tate and Lizzie Burden). Emory was born in Georgia, and was African-American. He was a prominent attorney.

Andrew’s paternal grandmother was Emma Lillian Cox (the daughter of Ira Cox and Emma Davis Matthews).
