Anna was the daughter of William Joseph Crosby, who had deep lines in America, and Rose Winifred Evans, whose father was Welsh and maternal grandparents were immigrants from Ireland (I don’t know if they were of Scot-Irish descent/ surnames Campbell and Hood).

Abigail’s maternal grandmother is named Adrienne Faye Dawson.

Keep in mind that the surnames Cowan and Cowen and such, are Anglicized version of the (most common) Jewish surname Cohen.
Same as Coen, Cogan, Kogan, and even Kaplan and Caplan.

While not impossible, I doubt it’s applicable here. Plus it’s really a rarity.

Cowen is also a common Irish and Scottish surname with no Jewish connection.

The surname Cowen has roots in both Ireland and Scotland. In Ireland, it is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic “Mac Eoghain,” which means “son of Eoghan.” Meanwhile in Scotland, it is derived from the personal name “Comhghan” which means “born together.” Over the years, modifications and variations in spelling like Cowan, Cowin, and Cowen emerged.
