Thurston is an Australian Rugby League player. He was born to a Caucasian-Kiwi father and a mother of Australian Aboriginal descent. A few websites claim that he is half Maori, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
He is known to not be vocal about his Aboriginal background but rather play the game quietly without bringing his heritage up. In addition he stated, “I’m just proud of my family and where I come from.”
