He is the son of Kimberly and Howard Day. He was raised in Brewer, Maine.

Howie’s maternal grandfather is Kern L. Feeney (the son of Howard Knight Feeney and Christine Cecilia Trenholm). Kern was born in Maine. Howard was the son of Lorrie Hudson Feeney and Lucretia Delilah Knight. Christine was the daughter of Thomas Edmond Trenholm and Florence May Stanley.

Howie’s maternal grandmother is named Marion L. Robinson.
