Tovah Feldshuh is an American actress, singer, and playwright. Her roles include the mini-series Holocaust, the shows Law & Order and The Walking Dead, the films A Walk on the Moon, Kissing Jessica Stein, and She’s Funny That Way; and many stage performances.
Tovah is the daughter of Lillian and Sidney Feldshuh/Feldschuh, a lawyer. Her brother is playwright David Feldshuh, who wrote Miss Evers’ Boys. She was raised in Scarsdale, Westchester County, New York. Her nephew, musician Noah Feldshuh, was in the pop rock band X Ambassadors. Tovah is married to attorney Andrew Harris Levy, with whom she has two children.
Tovah’s paternal grandfather was David B. Feldschuh/Feldshuh (the son of Szmil/Samuel/Shmuel/Schmiel Feldschuh/Feldschuh and Pearl Kassirer/Kasierer). David was born in Austria, and had roots in Galicia and Ukraine. Szmil was the son of Rachmiel Kimmelmen/Feldschuh and Freide Beile Feldschuh. Pearl was the daughter of Chaskel Kassirer.
Tovah’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Kaplan.
