Tabaré Vázquez was a Uruguayan politician. He served as President of Uruguay, from 1 March, 2005 to 1 March, 2010, and again, from 1 March, 2015 to 1 March, 2020. He was also Intendant of Montevideo, from 5 May, 1990 to 5 May, 1994, and President pro tempore of the Union of South American Nations, from 1 March, 2015 to 23 April, 2016.
He was the son of Héctor Vázquez Edreira and Elena Rosas Clubard. He was married to María Auxiliadora Delgado San Martín, until her death, with whom he had four children.
