Nell Hudson is an English actress. She has starred on television’s Outlander, Victoria, and Informer, and in the film Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022).

She is the daughter of Charles Hudson and novelist, biographer, journalist, and critic Cressida Connolly.

Nell’s paternal grandfather was named Richard Derrington Mogridge Hudson.

Nell’s paternal grandmother was Rosalind Hudson (born Rosalind Audrey Clare Latham, the daughter of Henry Rumney Latham and Nina Henri). Rosalind was born in Wirral, Cheshire, England, and was a British codebreaker in WWII, and architectural model maker. She was stationed at Bletchley Park and Woburn Abbey during the war. Nell’s great-grandfather Henry was the son of Henry Alexander Latham and Annie Pixton Rumney. Nina was likely the daughter of Arthur Henri and Margaret E. Rosalind was said to be a granddaughter of architect Walter Aubrey Thomas, also known as Aubrey Thomas.

Nell’s maternal grandfather was literary critic and writer Cyril Connolly (Cyril Vernon Connolly, the son of Matthew William Kemble Connolly and Muriel Maud Vernon). Cyril was born in Coventry, Warwickshire, England. Matthew Connolly was a British army officer, malacologist, and mineral collector, and was the son of Vice-Admiral Matthew Connolly, R.N., and of Harriet Kemble, whose father was a minister. Nell’s great-grandmother Muriel was the daughter of Colonel Edward Vernon, J.P., D.L., of Clontarf Castle, Co. Dublin.

Nell’s maternal grandmother was Deirdre Craig (the daughter of Major Hon. Patrick William Dennis Craig and Aline Margaret Mary McClaren Cumming). Deirdre remarried to poet and archaeologist Peter Levi. Patrick was the son of James Craig, 1st Viscount Craigavon, who was born in Belfast, Ireland, the son of a wealthy whiskey distiller; and of Cecil Craig, Viscountess Craigavon, born Cecil Mary Nowell Dering Tupper, who was a unionist. Nell’s great-grandmother Aline was the daughter of J. Cumming.
