Monica is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur. She starred in BET reality show All Eyes on Me, the same title as her 2002 album.
She is the daughter of Marilyn Best and M. C. Arnold. She has said that her paternal grandfather was of Irish and Black ancestry, and that her paternal grandmother was “entirely Indian.” A picture of Monica with her father can be seen here. Monica’s stepfather is a cousin of rapper and actor Ludacris. She is also said to be a cousin of record producer and rapper Polow da Don.
Monica has two children with her former fiancé, rapper Rodney “Rocko” Hill; and a daughter with her former husband, professional basketball player Shannon Brown.
Monica’s paternal grandfather is named M. C. Arnold (the son of Julia Mae Stokes).
Monica’s paternal grandmother is Maude R. Thomas (the daughter of Arthur Thomas and Clorena M. Johnson).
She is the daughter of Marilyn Best and M.C. “Billy” Arnold Jr.
She claims in an interview from 2001 that her paternal grandfather was Irish and Black and that her paternal grandmother was “entirely Indian”. Her father has “blonde hair and blue eyes”.

Ahhh man! I just wish that they would’ve listed her ethnicity as “African American, as well as European,” instead of “African American, as well as Caucasian”… For some reason, I always get bothered when the term “Caucasian” is mistakenly used in place of “European.” Unless someone is from or is descended from the peoples of the Caucasus region, they are not and should not be considered Caucasian. Hmmm, oh well…I’ll just have to live with it! :( LOL

There are no 100% Pure descendants of African slaves in America or anywhere’s else. When will you people learn. This is not unusual. This is the norm in America. We just don’t flaunt it as if it something to be proud of like some people.
Correct! I have siblings the color of wesley and some light as halle. It is in our genes. The GENES you people don’t get it we are African Americans/ Black Americans ancestors of slaves who were violated and this gives us many different appearances quit it! You don’t get to define and divide us. We know who and what we are.
