I’d like to know where the Irish has come from on the list of her ancestry, as in the interview shown above didn’t she just state English, Scottish & French ancestry?

Also Ethni can’t you try research Australian singer Delta Goodrems ancestry too? Maybe Follers you could help as I think you’re probably the best person to do so.

I hope Aussies start to try to find their roots more through the various family tree websites. Seeing that a lot of Australians have at least one parent born in another country (if not themselves born in another country) )and considering Australia has only been colonized for over 200 years, I assume it will be easier compared to finding the ancestors of Americans.

a part of Australians descend from convicts. Most Australian states were originally settled as penal colonies (except South Australia). Many of the criminals were just commiting crimes of severe poverty — 7 years jail for stealing a loaf of bread, seriously. Most of them were not violent criminals, they were just trying to survive in the endemic poverty of London at the time. They were caught, and shipped over here, to get rid of England’s little problem of overcrowded prisons.

Some of the comments left here are hilarious. She looks like a typical Australian, and a typical Australian is of British Isles descent. This is a fact!

Even now, there are 1,500,000 British(Mostly English) born people living in Australia, easily the largest foreign born population in Australia.

i don’t think one could look australian, unless you were an indigenous aboriginal, the mainstream population of australia might be white of european descent but that doesn’t meant if you’re a white person living in australia you look australian, australia is multicultural, but as you’ve stated mainstream australia is british and/or irish descent and i don’t think she looks that at all, she looks eastern european and i guess the french is somewhat evident

      • ashash says:

According to you, Cheryl Cole looks part Asian and Miranda Kerr looks Eastern European, even though they are neither . . .

        • J.J. says:

i never said cheryl cole looks asian, that was alice, i just agreed that she doesn’t look full european, and miranda kerr most definitely does not look birtish/irish, my mum had a friend from serbia who resembled her very much so, and i remember seeing on a forum website someone asking her ethnicity and saying she assumes some sort of slavic.
