Julian Assange is an Australian computer programmer, editor, publisher, activist, and journalist. He founded the organisation WikiLeaks in 2006, and was its editor-in-chief. He was also an Ecuadorian citizen for several years.

Julian’s mother is Christine Ann (Hawkins). His biological father is John Shipton. Julian’s surname comes from his stepfather, Richard Brett Assange. The surname Assange evidently originates with Au Sang, a Taiwanese who married a Torres Strait Islander woman on Thursday Island. Julian is a cousin of Australian-British academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert.

Julian is married to South African-born lawyer and human rights defender Stella Assange (born Sara González Devant). He has a son with his former wife Teresa; and two children with Stella; as well as possibly other children.

Julian’s maternal grandfather was named Warren Alfred Hawkins.

Julian’s maternal grandmother was named Norma Joan Carelton.

    proof positive that many so called Nordic types are of Asiatic heritage because he looks typically northern European and not Chinese
