Jessica was born to a black father and a white, Ashkenazi Jewish mother. She was raised Jewish. Jessica is married to Israeli-American actor Ronen Rubinstein.
On her Jewish wedding ceremony, Jessica has stated:
I was raised with religious beliefs and Ronen, who was born in Israel, wasn’t but his Jewish DNA is much higher than mine so culturally it was super important to us.
