>Novigrad, Općina Novigrad, Istria County, Croatia
Actually, it should say Novigrad, Općina Novigrad, Zadar County, Croatia. There are 2 Novigrads in Croatia (4 if you count ones with extra words in the name).
Those aren’t her paternal grandparents.
Oh crap, in some way I added the parents of the wrong Rick Gardner.
@ bablah
what do you think about the ethnicity of Nicholas Karavida and Kathryn Guardio?

I hadn’t looked at the geni-link when I submitted her. This is her grandmother’s genealogy:

Censuses mostly say that Stanley spoke Croatian. I guess he was just Croatian after all, and that genealogy.com just made up Greek and Italian.
Nikola Karavida was most certainly a Croat, and so was his wife Kate Gvardiol. It should say 1/8 Croatian.
Gvardiol-> Guardio. We already talked about this topic in the past (Croatian-Italian controversy). Btw, what do you think about Paolo Maldini’s father?
Have you even looked at the geni tree you linked yourself?
Her family is from Novigrad for generations (and they have Slavic names). She has one distant ancestor that might have been from Venice.
As for Paolo,Mladič is a very rare last name among Slovenians and I don’t think there were that many Slovenians in Padova (from where Maldinis claim they’re from).
Yes, I’ve checked it. Deep roots in Novigrad.
And i looks Maldini is unlikely an Italianized Slavic name.
