DJ Muggs is an American DJ, audio engineer, and record producer. He is a member of hip hop group Cypress Hill, along with Eric Bobo, Sen Dog, and B-Real. He is also known as Muggs and The Black Goat.

His mother, Mary Ann (Foglio), was born in Naples, Campania, Italy, and came to the U.S. with her family after WWII. Muggs’ legal name was changed to Lawrence Muggerud after his mother remarried to Dallas Muggerud, who was of Norwegian descent. Many sources state that Muggs is also of Cuban ancestry, but this has not been verified.

His family moved to Bell Gardens, Los Angeles, when he was fourteen years old.

He has one child.

DJ Muggs’ maternal grandfather was named Dominick Foglio. Dominick was born in Naples.

DJ Muggs’ maternal grandmother was Francesca/Frances Cavassi (the daughter of John Cavassi and Christine Muzzillo). Francesca was born in Naples.
