I always thought Estes Kefauver sounded like a very Jewish name.
what kind of surname is “Kefauver”? About “Wretzky”, it’s Slavic and it could be Polish too.
“Kefauver” is a German surname, and used to be “Kielfaber”, it’s on Estes’ ethnicelebs page.
“Estes” sounded like a Spanish surname to me, but it’s English.
Estes Kefauver was pretty much the most popular Democratic politician in the 1950s. He won more primaries than any one other Democrat in 1952 and 1956.
“Wretzky” is pretty much only a Jewish surname in the U.S. I don’t know about Europe. It reminds of “Centrowitz”, which people thought was Polish (non-Jewish), too.
“Wretzky” sounds like:

Chaim is not a name a Polish person would give to their child. It’s very much Jewish.
