Charles Herbert was an American actor. He was a prominent child actor in the 1950s and 1960s. He is known for starring in the films 13 Ghosts and The Boy and the Pirates, among many others.

Charles was the son of Pearl Jean (Diamond) and Louis Saperstein. His father was born in New York, to Russian Jewish/Polish Jewish parents. His mother was an Austrian Jewish immigrant.

Charles’s paternal grandfather was named Morris Saperstein (the son of Chana Rochel “Anna”).

Charles’s paternal grandmother was Feige/Fannie Goniadzski (the daughter of Avram Goniandski and Dvorah Merans). Feige was born in Goniądz, Mońki, Podlaskie, Poland. Avram was the son of Eliezer Natan Gonionski. Dvorah was the daughter of Hirsch/Hirtz/Tzvi Naftali Merrens/Maranc and Zlate.

Charles’s maternal grandfather was named Adolph/Adolf Diamond. Adolph was born in Galicia.

Charles’s maternal grandmother was Yetta Russ/Ross (the daughter of Leo Russ and Ruth Grossman).
