Bat for Lashes is a British indie pop singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her albums are “Fur and Gold,” “Two Suns,” “The Haunted Man,” “The Bride,” and “Lost Girls.”
Her father, professional squash player Rehmat Khan, is Pakistani, and comes from the Khan squash family. Her mother is English. She is a niece of professional squash players Jahangir Khan, who was World No. 1, and Torsam Khan. She was raised partly in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. Bat for Lashes has a daughter with her partner, Australian actor and model Samuel Watkins.
Bat for Lashes’ paternal grandfather was squash player Nasrullah Khan (the son of Faizulla Khan). Bat for Lashes’ grandfather Nasrullah was born in Nawan Kalli, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. His maternal grandfather was named Abdul Majeed Khan.
