Arsène Wenger is a French professional footballer and manager. A midfielder, he played for Mutzig, Mulhouse, ASPV Strasbourg, and RC Strasbourgr. He managed Nancy, Monaco, Nagoya Grampus Eight, and Arsenal. He is 6′3″.

Arsène born in Alsace, France, an area of Eastern France, which has been a part of Germany in the past. He is the son of Louise and Alphonse Wenger; his parents owned an automobile spare parts business and La Croix d’Or, a bistro. His father managed the village football team. He grew up speaking Low Alemannic German, an Alsatian dialect; as well as French. His surname is German. Arsène was raised in the villages Duppigheim and Duttlenheim. He has a daughter with his wife, basketball player Annie Brosterhous. He is Catholic.
