Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is a Croatian politician and diplomat. She served as the fourth President of Croatia, from 19 February, 2015 to 18 February, 2020. She has also been Minister of European Affairs, from 23 December, 2003 to 16 February, 2005, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, from 17 February, 2005 to 12 January, 2008, Ambassador of Croatia to the United States, from 8 March, 2008 to 4 July, 2011, and Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Public Diplomacy, from 4 July, 2011 to 2 October, 2014.

Kolinda is the daughter of Dubravka (Matejčić) and Branko Grabar. She was raised in her family’s village Lopača. Her parents owned a butcher shop and a ranch. She is married to engineer Jakov Kitarović, with whom she has two children. Kolinda is a Roman Catholic. She speaks fluent Croatian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Kolinda’s paternal grandfather was named Ljubomir Grabar.
