Donna Karan is an American fashion designer. She created the Donna Karan New York and DKNY clothing labels. She is also known as “DK.”

She is the daughter of Helen “Queenie” (Rabinowitz), a model and designer, and Gabriel “Gabby” Faske/Faskowitz, a tailor and haberdasher. She was raised in Woodmere, the Five Towns region of Nassau County, New York. Donna was married to artist Stephan Weiss, until his death. She has a daughter with her former husband Mark Karan; and a son with Stephan.

Donna’s paternal grandmother was named Bella.
