Tiago Splitter is a Brazilian professional basketball player.

Tiago was born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, the son of Elisabeth Beims and Cassio Roberto Splitter. He grew up in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. Tiago was raised Roman Catholic, and speaks fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, and German. His parents are pictured here. Tiago has said that he had relatives who were victims of the Holocaust, though he has no evident Jewish heritage.

    His Splitter ancestors appear to have Lutheran/Catholic records on FamilySearch, but Tiago and his father have said that some Splitter relatives died in the holocaust. Tiago is also of one eighth Swedish, one sixteenth Swiss-French, and 1/64 French, descent.
