Scotty McCreery is an American country singer. He won the tenth season of the show American Idol (in 2011). See other American Idol winners here.

He is the son of Judy, a real estate agent, and Michael McCreery, a manufacturing systems analyst. His father was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, to a military father from the U.S. mainland, and a Puerto Rican mother. Scotty is the first American Idol winner to have Hispanic ancestry, and the last one until 2020.

He is married to Gabi Dugal, with whom he has a son.

Scotty’s paternal grandfather was named William James McCreery II (the son of William James McCreery).

Scotty’s paternal grandmother was named Paquita Rivera Rotger.

Scotty’s maternal grandfather is Robert Perry Cooke (the son of Charles Wesley Cooke and Cookie Jane Powell).

Scotty’s maternal grandmother is Janet Hunter (the daughter of Abner Benton Hunter and Lillian Virginia Nash). Lillian was the daughter of John James Nash and Pearl Albertson.

    I know his grandmother was Puerto Rican but where is the proof that he is Scottish? I thought “McCreery” was an Irish name
