Sandra Bullock is an American actress, producer, and philanthropist. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Blind Side (2009). Her father, John Wilson Bullock, was born in Alabama, of English, Irish, German, Swiss-German, and French ancestry. Her mother, Helga Bullock (born Helga Mathilde Meyer), an opera singer and voice teacher, was German. Her parents met in Nuremberg, Germany, where her father was in charge of the U.S. Army’s Military Postal Service in Europe. Sandra’s father also worked with the Army Materiel Command and was a contractor for The Pentagon.
Sandra’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, is a chef, author, and executive. Sandra spent part of her childhood in Nuremberg, and in Vienna and Salzburg in Austria. She has German citizenship and speaks German fluently. Sandra has two children, both adopted.

Sandra’s paternal grandmother was Mary LaBlanche Wilson (the daughter of Francis E. “Frank” Wilson and Anna Helen Finn). Mary was born in Wisconsin. Francis was the son of James Wilson and Susan A. Spencer. Anna was the daughter of John Finn and Bridget.
Sandra’s maternal grandfather was Eugen Meyer (the son of August Meyer and Lina Schöttler). Eugen was born in Altena, Märkischer Kreis, Nordrhein-Westfalen. August was the son of Karl Meyer and Wilhelmine Hüttebräncker/Huttebranker. Lina was the daughter of Karl August Schöttler and Henriette Grüper.
Sandra’s maternal grandmother was Elisabeth Wilhelmine Böhnert (the daughter of Karl August Böhnert and Marie Henriette Pauls). Elisabeth was born in Hamburg-Nord, Hamburg, Germany. Karl was the son of August Hermann Böhnert and Auguste Henriette Amalie Luther. Sandra’s great-grandmother Marie was the daughter of Johann Jakob Pauls and Anna Regine Schwabe.

I am Albanian. I never heard a Bullock last name in Albania. Definitely the last name is not Albanian. But many Albanians in America adopted their last names. Gregory Williams for instance, a former Nasa astronaut. There is no Williams in Albania and yet Gregory is full blooded Albanian. To me Sandra looks Albanian. Albanians claim her ancestry from the movie “Wag the Dog”. She thought movie was being offensive to Albanian and Albania was the origin of her father. So she kept arguing about it and made her arguments known in a tv interview. It must be said that she has not being active in Albanian cause. She has been in German though.

The likelihood of Sandra Bullock’s name being Albanian is far less than her being English. Bullock is a very common name which means “large ox” in Old English. How simple is that?
And how many times do we have to go over the fact that most people from Europe have brown hair and brown eyes. Even black hair and black eyes and they’re not necessarily “Native American” or Chinese. Having blond hair & blue eyes is a recent mutation that happened to occur in Europe. That’s it. That’s why many families have both dark-haired and light haired children.
I know some folks are living out this Aryan fantasy of the pure-blood European blond haired blue-eyed warrior princess. Yet, I know blond-haired blue-eyed Viking warrior princesses who are much more “racially” mixed than Sandra Bullock. Get over it.
Ok, I should’ve compared Germans to Albanians.
The reality is that Albanians are “whiter” than you’d think and Germans are “darker” than you think. You simply can’t tell for certain what ethnic mixture a person has by looking at them.

I am of German decent. My parents are German immigrants. Everyone in my family has various shades of blonde hair, and various shades of blue eyes. All of us have very white skin that burns easily. The churches use to keep very good records of births, marriages, and deaths. If there is brown hair and brown eyes then I am sure they are not of pure German orgin. Don’t forget that Kahn the warrior and his soldiers probably also left some of their DNA in Germany.
Hence, probably where some of that brown hair and brown eyes, and skin come from.
What? Family members resemble one another? Well, color me surprised! Germany is a large, diverse country. You can’t pull a single family from, say, Munich, and claim that they’re representative of all Germans, from Hamburg to Stuttgart and from Berlin to Dusseldorf. There are plenty of brunette Germans, especially the further south toward the Alps you go. Besides, no one is pure anything – Germany is a crossroads of Europe, with Roman and Celtic presence in the south and west, and Slavic, Uralic, and Turkic presence from the east, plus Romani Gypsies and Ashkenazi Jews. Even a blond-haired, blue-eyed German from Berlin probably isn’t “pure” German, considered the region was originally Slavic Wendish territory.
Hitler had brown hair and brown eyes, though he promoted that ridiculous “pure white” crap which some people apparently still believe in. The thought that there is such a thing as a “pure white” person actually makes me laugh!
Anyway, it’s crazy that people actually believe in that stereotype for Germans.

People dont vote me down just for saying, i think she looks albanian. I know shes not but im where no all certain. A lot of people keep saying that she’s claimed Albanian ancestry ect. And in all honesty i wouldn’t be surprised if she did have albanian ancestry, im albanian and something about does not look german,english,irish,french. why do all americans think that germans can only be blonde and blue-eyed?? the most famous german (hit ler) was dark-haired, heidi klum is actually too and has brown eyes. and this has nothing to do with turks, italians, south-slavs or other immigrants like others have stated. no, germany isn’t in scandinavia but in the middle of europe that’s it has always totally normal and not extraordinary at all to see darkhaired and brown-eyed germans.
