Rebecca Lobo is an American professional basketball player and television basketball analyst. Usually a center, she played with the New York Liberty, the Houston Comets, the Springfield Spirit, and the Connecticut Sun of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is 6′4″.

Rebecca is the daughter of RuthAnn and Dennis Joseph Lobo. Her siblings, Jason and Rachel, were college basketball players. Rebecca’s paternal grandfather was of Cuban/Spanish-Cuban and Spanish descent, while Rebecca’s paternal grandmother was of half Ashkenazi Jewish and half Polish (Catholic) ancestry. Rebecca’s mother’s ancestry is Irish and German.

Rebecca’s paternal grandfather was Joseph M. Lobo, Jr. (the son of Joseph Mario Lobo Perez and Maria Emilia Guitterez). Rebecca’s grandfather Joseph was born in New York. Rebecca’s great-grandfather Joseph was born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, the son of Jose Maria Lobo and Vincenta Perez. Rebecca’s great-grandmother Maria Guitterez was born in Tangier, Morocco, the daughter of Spanish parents, Antonio Guitterez and Catalina Roca.

Rebecca’s paternal grandmother was named Catherine M. Wade (the daughter of Mary Olech). Catherine was born in New York. Wade was the surname of her stepfather. Mary was a Polish Catholic emigrant from Galicia. Catherine’s biological father, Rebecca’s great-grandfather, was unknown. Julia was the daughter of William Ayers, who was born in Pennsylvania, to Irish parents, and of Elizabeth Grout/Godut, who was also born in Pennsylvania, to an Irish father.

Rebecca’s maternal grandmother was Ruth Caroline Sauer (the daughter of Peter Sauer and Rose Teresa Klinges). Ruth was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
