Nicole Scherzinger is an American recording artist, dancer, television personality, and actress. She was the lead vocalist of The Pussycat Dolls, a band whose members also included Carmit Bachar, Kaya Jones, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, and Kimberly Wyatt, as well as Asia Nitollano. She has also been credited as Nicole Kea.

She is the daughter of Rosemary Elikalani (Frederick) Scherzinger and Alfonso A[lueta] Valiente, Jr. Her father is Filipino, from the Batanes Islands in the Philippines. Her mother has Native Hawaiian, Ukrainian, and Polish, ancestry. Her mother was a professional hula dancer. Nicole’s surname comes from her stepfather, Gary Scherzinger, who has German ancestry. She was raised partly in Louisville, Kentucky.

Nicole’s paternal grandfather was Alfonso Arca Valiente (the son of Salvador Valiente y Batiforra, or Salvador Batiforra Valiente in Filipino, and of Adriana Arca e Idel, or Adriana Idel Arca in Filipino). Nicole’s grandfather Alfonso was born in Kauai County, Hawaii, to Filipino parents, the former from Basco, Batanes. Salvador was the son of Gaspar Valiente and Martina Batiforra. Adriana was the daughter of Domingo Arca and Máxima Idel.

Nicole’s paternal grandmother was Joaquina “Jojo” Alueta y Ferido (or Joaquina Ferido Alueta in Filipino, the daughter of Juan Alueta y Amarante, or Juan Amarante Alueta in Filipino, and of Aniceta Ferido y Figura, or Aniceta Figura Ferido in Filipino). Joaquina was a Filipino emigrant, from Manila. Juan was the son of Francisco Alueta and María Amarante. Aniceta was the daughter of Mateo Ferido and Raymunda Figura.

Nicole’s maternal grandfather is John Irvin Frederick (the son of William F. Frederick and Stella Bolka). John was born in New York. William was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Polish parents, William Frederick/Fredrick and Frances Vencowski/Viencoski/Vinskowski. Stella was born in Pennsylvania, to ethnic Ukrainian parents from Ulucz, Poland, Michael Bolka and Catherine/Kathryn.

Nicole’s maternal grandmother is Katherine P. Lenchanko, now Katherine Frederick (the daughter of John Ivan Lenchanko, Sr. and Angeline Kawailani Kea). Katherine was born in Hawaii. John was the son of Nikita Demidovich/Dimidovich Lenichenko/Lenitchenko/Lesnichenko and Praskovia/Paraskovia Kuzminichna/Kuzminisha Zenchenko. They were ethnic Ukrainian emigrants, who were Russian Orthodox Christians from the Kiev region, a village called Berezno. Nikita was one of 165 Russian and Ukrainian immigrants in Hawaii who wished to return to his native country, and sent an application for that. Pictures of, and information about, Nicole’s maternal great-grandfather John, and his family, can be seen here and here (Nicole’s great-grandfather is at the center of the picture at the second link, leaning on his father).

Nicole’s great-grandmother Angeline was the daughter of John Louis Kea/Mano and Margaret Dionicia/Dionisia Namakaokalani “Maggie” Iopa, and was of Native Hawaiian background.

I have always thought she was really pretty,i knew she was some type of asian, because of her eyes, she’s again very pretty and maintains a great physique, anyone saying she’s ugly or anything like that, don’t know what they’re talking about!

  2. Lexii says:

She looks a bit like Kim Kardashian.. :/

  3. me says:

Nicole has obvious Negroid features, she has a very dark skin. I can not see in him something white and asian. She dont have slanted eyes like the most of descendants of asians. She looks only Hawaiian

    • Euronesian says:

A “Negroid” individual, I’m assuming that this term is coming from a place of ignorance and stupidity due to your broad accusations and poor grammar, is not the only one who may have “very dark skin.” Skin tone varies by climate, so someone living in western Africa may have the same skin variation as someone in India or the Pacific Islands. Furthermore, Nicole is a ‘her,’ not a “him.” Oh, and Hawaiian is Polynesian/Pacific Islander not Asian. In sum – you’re an idiot.

      • me says:

who cares if I wrote wrong?Nicole is ugly, she has a crooked mouth and flat nose

      • Lexii says:

What the HELL is a negroid? Please, enlighten me! Your comment makes no sense whatsoever and Im def assuming that it must be coming from a very ignorant person… well, i have a term for you: stupida$$

          • Doctoris says:

People here are discussing race without knowing anything about racial anthropology, Negroid is an phenotype like Arabid, Nordid and others. Go study! Being a descendant of Russian not meant to be a descendant of white, Russia has a lot of mixing especially with China

          • Jimenez says:

There’s no Russian/Chinese mixing to any significant degree. There was some mixing in the far east of Russia, but not much took place in the Russian homeland, where the majority lives. It’s not really known how much mixing there was. The Chinese people just came as guest workers. and they didn’t settle, only some of them married locals, and they had some children, why many Russians in the far east have some Chinese ancestry, but the main Russian population does not. There are many Chinese people in Russia, that is true, but they’re not permanent citizens.

Im from the PHL…and I agree with renee…dna testing already confirmed that we are all 99.99% african…the miniscule differences are due to people staying in a specific location for generations…In my case, I have 1% recent african markers…either could be from Melanesia or from Mexico…Mom is part spanish but since the PHL was managed through Acapulco MXC it is possible the afro infusion came there…oh…and yeah…Nicole is great

    • Dasher says:

I know Nicole is not, but she does look a bit black to me.

        • nathalie says:

The picture you showed of a filipino with caucasian ancestry is Vanessa Hudgens. She does have irish on her father’s side, and filipino on her mother’s but don’t forget that she is also mixed with many other ethnicities. Her father has native american, and her mother has chinese and spanish descent as well. I’m only pointing this out because she is a mix of many ancestries in combination of her parents’ genes but I understand she mostly identifies herself as filipino, which there is nothing wrong with.

To be honest, these days you can’t tell truly tell what someone’s race is just by looking. The world is changing. People are mixing together more.

    • Jimenez says:

Filipino/European mixes can have many different kinds of looks.

Here are two Filipino-European mixed girls, and they look completely different, even though they are both 50/50 mixes of Malay looking Filipinos (or Filipinas) So you can’t predict the looks of mixed people.
